Adelaide AFLW defender Chelsea Biddell has lifted the lid on some of the unusual tactics she once used while standing on the mark.

Speaking on the Club’s Winging It podcast, Biddell revealed a series of playful antics designed to distract opposition forwards lining up for goal.

The 28-year-old said she went through a phase of doing "weird things" on the mark after opponents had taken a grab against her, opting for a more theatrical approach, rather than relying on sledges.

And among her more memorable moments was an encounter with Richmond forward Caitlin Greiser.

"I went through a phase where I'd actually like I'd do weird things (while) on the mark,” Biddell said.

"If my player took a mark on me, I would be standing on the mark, and they're having a shot on goal."

"Caitlin Greiser, her nickname is the G train, so I was doing the chu chu train while on the mark.”

The back also admitted to pulling out a dinosaur impression when North Melbourne forward Kate Shierlaw was preparing to take a set shot.

"There's another one with Kate Shierlaw... She's getting older, I actually think she's a very good player, but she took a mark and I was standing on the mark and did like a dinosaur (pose)," Biddell said.

"Hopefully that adds a bit of fuel to the fire, but that's what I used to do, weird stuff."

Biddell also revealed that during the Crows’ win against Brisbane last weekend that fellow key defender Sarah Allan had brought her own brand of on-field chatter.

"On the weekend, Sezzy was doing a bit in terms of the yapping side of things,” Biddell said.

“That was good to see.”

The Crows are gearing up to face the Dockers in a Round Seven clash at Unley Oval on Sunday and Biddell encouraged fans to get along.

“Freo are in the (AFL) Grand final. We're gonna ride that wave. We're gonna beat them. Yeah. Should be a good contest. We always have a really good contest with Frio, and yeah, I think you should get down there, bring your families, and come watch the girls play some footy.
