The Adelaide Football Club congratulates Board Director Grant Stevens on his appointment as the 37th Governor of South Australia.
Stevens, who joined the Club's Board of Directors in December 2025, has devoted almost 45 years to serving the South Australian community with SA Police, including the past 11 years as Commissioner of Police.
A long-standing Crows supporter, Stevens will step down from his official role with the Club effective immediately, as he prepares to take up his new responsibilities.
Crows Chairman John Olsen said Stevens’ leadership and commitment to the community make him an excellent choice for the role of Governor.
“This is an outstanding opportunity for Grant and a fitting recognition of his contribution to our State,” Olsen said.
“On behalf of the Board, our CEO Tim Silvers and everyone at the Adelaide Football Club, I congratulate Grant and thank him for his service to our Club."
Stevens said it had been a privilege to serve on the Crows Board and he looked forward to continuing to support the Club in a different capacity.
"The Adelaide Football Club holds a special place in the hearts of so many South Australians, including my own, and it has been an honour to serve as a Director and understand its inner workings," Stevens said.
"Although I am stepping away from my formal role, I will always be a passionate supporter, and I look forward to seeing the Club realise its ambitions.”
Adelaide’s Board of Directors is John Olsen (Chair), Linda Fellows (Deputy Chair), Richard Fennell, Stephen Roche, Shanti Berggren, Graeme Goodings, Imelda Lynch, Neil Balme and James Gallagher.
