Adelaide could introduce up to a dozen players to league football when it opens its SANFL season on Saturday.

A batch of 2014 draftees and several development squad players are expected to be named to debut for the Crows against North Adelaide at Prospect Oval from 1.10pm.

The group includes former North junior Harrison Wigg, recruited by the Crows last November in the AFL national draft.

Defender Jake Lever, key forward Harry Dear, ruckman Reilly O’Brien and versatile rookie Keenan Ramsey are also set to play their first league games, while Norwood premiership player Anthony Wilson will debut for the Crows.

Lever played his first game in 18 months last weekend in Adelaide’s trial game against West Adelaide.

The number of development players required on Saturday is still to be finalised but some of the contenders for a debut at this level are Nick Mott, Dylan Schoenmakers, Matthew Spencely, Jake Sutcliffe and Josh Wittwer.

Adelaide played North twice at Prospect last season. The Crows lost the first encounter by 47 points but then had success on the next trip, winning by four points.
