A prolific ball-winning midfielder, Schoenberg uses his strength at the stoppages to set up teammates on the outside.
After being overlooked in South Australia’s initial training squad last summer, he not only pushed himself back into the team for this year’s Under 18 championships but dominated in a midfield featuring Dylan Stephens and Jackson Mead.
Schoenberg averaged 27 disposals, 12.2 contested possessions, 5.8 clearances and 4.8 tackles per game at the carnival to win All Australian honours and SA’s MVP award.
Across four games, he finished second for disposals behind Larke Medallist Deven Robertson, and second for contested possessions and clearances behind GWS Academy product Tom Green.
Schoenberg hails from Marrabel in the State’s Mid North and graduated from Prince Alfred College last year.
