The Adelaide Football Club would like to recognise the efforts and dedication shown by departing coaches Tate Kaesler and Josh Francou.

Both are leaving the Crows to pursue other opportunities, with the Club in the process of finalising a new look coaching structure.

Kaesler has worked in Adelaide’s football department for nearly a decade, mainly in the area of development but also oversaw team defence for the past two years.

Francou leaves after a challenging season and wanting a break.

Crows Head of Football Brett Burton said Kaesler and Francou had made valuable contributions.

“Not only are they great football people in their own right but they are also quality individuals who have put in countless hours trying to make the Club and people around them better,” Burton said.

“We wish them and their families every success now and into the future.”

In another change to the football department, the Club has appointed renowned physiotherapist and research scientist Steve Saunders to its high performance team.

Saunders, who has nearly three decades of experience, has previously been the Director of Sports Science and Medical Services at North Melbourne, and assisted several other AFL teams.

He has also consulted to Cricket Australia, South Australian Cricket Association, Athletics Australia, the UK Sports Institute, English Premier League clubs, and most recently National Basketball Association franchises.

Saunders has also consulted to Adelaide this year but officially starts in his full-time capacity in coming weeks, and will report to General Manager High Performance Matt Hass.
