Rory Atkins’ incredible left-foot snap has taken third place in our RAA Goals of the Year poll.

Playing in his fifth senior game, the skilful wingman slotted what was just his second AFL goal from deep in the south-east pocket at Adelaide Oval during the Crows’ clash with Brisbane in Round 21.

Atkins received a handball from fellow youngster Riley Knight midway through the second term and was immediately pressed hard against the boundary line by Brisbane’s Dayne Zorko.

With just a handful of steps to steady himself, the 21-year-old swung onto his trusty left boot before threading the ball through for his first-ever AFL Goal of the Year contender.

The young Crow seemed pretty satisfied with the effort himself – sharing a cheeky wink with his teammates on the way back to his wing.
