Adelaide and Port Adelaide will embrace several unique rule changes to the Big Bash formula in this Sunday’s T20 Showdown.

Adelaide Oval General Manager of Operations and Commercial Darren Chandler confirmed on Wednesday that the Crows v Power charity match would include the following changes:

  • Each team can bowl up to 10 players, with a maximum of three overs per player
  • Each team can only have 11 players bat
  • The opening four batsmen for each side must be AFL players. The first cricketer can bat at number five
  • The female cricketer must bat
  • Every player will have a free hit on the first ball they face
  • There will be a 12th man position and 13th man position (the 12th man position will be auctioned off, the 13th man will be a member of the CFS)
  • Teams can nominate a wildcard player. If the captain chooses to on the day, they can sub out an AFL player for a male cricketer not named in the 11 to bat.

CHARITY AUCTION: Bid now to secure a unique piece of sporting memorabilia

Each side selected four male cricketers and one female cricketer.

The game, which kicks off at 2pm on Sunday, will be televised live on Channel 7 in South Australia and on 7Plus nationally.
