Crows captain Rory Sloane could have been neighbours with Tony Modra, if not for a slightly expensive block of land.

Ahead of his 200th AFL game, Sloane spoke with Triple M’s Roo & Ditts and revealed his temptation to buy a block of land next to the Crows all-time goal-scoring leader.

“My favourite surf spot is Waitpinga, a beautiful beach, beautiful part of SA,” Sloane said.

“Yeah, Mods territory, I’ve looked at his farm a couple of times.

“He actually sold a little parcel not long ago… thought about buying it for a little bit there, but he wanted too much.”

The Crows are set to face Sydney in Round One at Adelaide Oval following weeks of uncertainty due to the coronavirus.

With the game scheduled to go ahead, Sloane said securing a result would mean it needs to be business as usual for Adelaide.

“It was very different,” Sloane said about the Richmond and Carlton game on Thursday night.

“We know what the fans do, but in terms of actual footy, it looked similar.

“It was just strange not seeing fans in the crowd.”

Earlier this week, Sloane hailed former assistant coach Scott Camporeale for his impact after the pair spent nearly a decade at the Club together.

“Scott Camporeale had a massive influence on my career, probably the biggest,” Sloane said.

“I spent nine years or so with Campo… I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.”

Adelaide is scheduled to face the Swans at 4.35pm ACDT behind closed doors.

The game will be broadcast live on Channel 7, Fox Sports and Kayo.
