The inaugural meeting of the Adelaide Crows Book Club took place on Tuesday evening, headed up by Leadership Development Manager Dan Jackson.

Jackson was joined by a handful of Crows at the virtual meeting including housemates Reilly O’Brien and Jake Kelly as well as teenagers Fischer McAsey and Lachlan Gollant.

Kelly told reporters on Wednesday one of the Club’s young guns provided a valuable contribution in the first meeting as the group discussed international bestseller Ego Is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday.

“We had the book club last night, the inaugural book club. We read Ego is the Enemy and we all talked about that,” Kelly said.

“There’s about six or seven of us. Fischer McAsey’s very, very intelligent; loves his books, so he was insightful.

“Lachie Gollant’s also another young player who loves his reading, and then Dan Jackson was the one running it and he’s been fantastic since he arrived.

“It’s a good initiative from Dan. We just plonk ourselves down for an hour and a half, have a yarn, discuss the book. A bit left field, but it was good.”

As for the next title on the reading list, that is still to be determined.

“Reilly O’Brien is currently working that out at the moment. He’s got about 24 hours to post a new one in, so it’s a wait and see,” Kelly said.
