On this day in 2005, Ken McGregor played his 100th game for the Adelaide Crows.

The 152-gamer was one of the final 10 names called out in the 1998 National Draft and was selected with pick No. 75, alongside Woodville-West Torrens teammate Brett Burton.

In 2005, McGregor also had a career-best year thanks to coach Neil Craig’s decision to switch him forward.

On May 6, in Round Seven, McGregor played in defence and had not kicked a goal thus far, but Craig’s decision gave the fan favourite a chance to shine.

McGregor kicked a career-high 31 goals in 2005, from 24 games.

Exactly one year later, ruckman Ivan Maric debuted for Adelaide in Showdown 20 versus Port Adelaide.

It was the first of 77 games in six seasons for the Victorian big man, who finished his career with Richmond in 2016.

Last but certainly not least, Eddie Betts kicked his 500th AFL goal on May 6, 2017 in a loss to North Melbourne.
