Ricciuto: the facts
Adelaide captain Mark Ricciuto does not yet know the results of extensive health tests.
Ricciuto, who is battling a mystery virus, told afc.com.au on Tuesday that he was still unwell.
“I’m not feeling too good and at the moment we don’t know why,” Ricciuto said. “I’m still having a heap of tests and I don’t really know when I’m going to know any more.”
Media speculation Ricciuto has Ross River Fever has been dampened by the club.
Crows chief executive officer Steven Trigg said the club was waiting for further news.
“The truth is that we don’t know what is wrong with Mark,” he said.
“Roo continues to be really crook, and we are hopeful of getting some clarity on that tomorrow (Wednesday).
“They’re assessing more blood tests, but he’s really crook.
“They’re has been some doubt, or cynicism about where his injury is at; he’s actually got a virus and is crook.”
Ricciuto has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against Melbourne at AAMI Stadium.
