Sam Jacobs’ amazing 61 hit-outs helped the impressive ruckman to a season-high 122 Dream Team points against Port Adelaide in the round 15 Showdown.

There were some solid numbers posted by a number of Crows players, with a few new names among the top-five point scorers.

Sam Jacobs was dominant in his 50th AFL game, collecting his highest DT score (122pts) and his first Showdown medal in the Crows win over the Power. His numbers say it all… 19 possessions, 61 hit-outs and three marks. After a little dip in DT form, ‘Sauce’ responded in round 15 and looks set for a massive second half of the year.

Six of the best

After a four-week stint out of the senior side, Ricky Henderson returned in style, booting a brilliant 6.2 in addition to his 11 marks and 20 disposals. The mobile Crows utility posted 120 points - his highest DT score for the year.

Super sub
Brodie Martin was activated as the substitute a little earlier than he would have been expecting on Saturday night due to an injury to Kurt Tippett, but the pacey 23-year old made an immediate and impressive impact. Martin kicked three goals and had 13 disposals in just a half of football to score 74 DT points. He’s a bargain at $235,200, and could be a handy pick-up for your defence.

Injury issues
Dream Teams featuring Kurt Tippett would have been hit hard in round 15 with the powerful key forward suffering a heavy knock which saw him leave the field early in the first quarter. Given it’s Tippett’s second knock in just three weeks, DT coaches may have to look into other FWD/RUC options this week… but don’t trade, Tippett’s kicked a reasonable 30 goals for the season and has averaged over 80 DT points per game for the majority of the year.
