Stevens, who had played 14 consecutive games for the Crows before being omitted last week, had 25 possessions and nine marks in Port’s big win over Sturt.
He started at centre half forward and kicked 2.2 before switching to centre half back later in the game.
A number of other Crows also pushed for promotion with strong performances.
Jason Porplyzia was high in West Adelaide’s best in the surprise win over Norwood, collecting 22 possessions and two goals. He was hard at the football and good in close, according to the club’s report.
Jason Torney was solid for South Adelaide at half back and on the ball and ruckman Ben Hudson rated highly for North Adelaide, with his second efforts a stand-out. Hudson’s car broke down on the way to Prospect Oval and he had to run part of the way before catching a lift.
John Meesen was again impressive for Norwood despite the result, with 16 possessions and 19 hit outs. Ivan Maric was solid in the ruck for Port, John Hinge worked hard in defence for Glenelg and Darren Pfeiffer kicked two goals for Norwood.
Ruckman John Meesen was impressive for Norwood against the Eagles on Sunday, especially in the first half. He had 18 possessions and 16 hit outs.
Rookie-listed forward Adrian Bonaddio had his best league outing of the year, booting seven goals in West’s win.
Bernie Vince also made a return after missing seven weeks with a knee injury. The Eagles had the bye so Bernie played in the reserves for Central District.
