Darcy Fogarty is expected to be available for selection against North Melbourne on Saturday after recovering from a high-grade shoulder injury.

On Tuesday, Crows Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders said the key forward would likely be ready for his first match since Round Four.

“Darcy is assessing well this week,” Saunders said.

“He’s had three really good weeks of training, we’ve just been waiting for low-level strength deficits to return to normal and expect to be able to put Darcy out to play on the weekend.”

Young Crow Ned McHenry could also return after a managed week off.

“Following a contusion to the rib cage, Ned was really not moving well at all (last week),” Saunders said.

“When we profiled him, his strength levels were low and he wasn’t in a position where we felt he was ready to play at his best.

“Ned is moving pretty well now and he’ll be available for selection this week.”

The news was less positive for midfielder Brad Crouch, who suffered a hamstring injury against Essendon on Sunday.

The reigning Club Champion is expected to miss multiple games given the upcoming fixture compression.

“Brad was pushed in the back by an opponent when he was in a kicking stride and had an immediate onset of pain in the hamstring,” Saunders said.

“Scans have confirmed a strain at the junction between the muscle and the tendon, in the upper thigh.

“We expect Brad to take two-to-three weeks to return to play.”

Stand-in skipper Tom Doedee is recovering well from hamstring discomfort on Sunday following heavy contusions to the trunk and hip.

“Scans confirmed the defender sustained a high-grade contusion to the gluteals and were reassuring as to his hamstring health,” Saunders said.

Doedee is expected to train and be available for selection this weekend with a final decision will be made towards the end of the week.

“Tom, like all players, has four games to play in 16 days,” Saunders said.

“At the end of the week when we sit down to make a decision, we’ll be considering that with the entire list.”
