Scans have revealed emerging Crows defender Andrew McPherson will be sidelined for 2-3 weeks.

McPherson reported hamstring discomfort in the second quarter against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday and took no further part in the match.

Crows Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders confirmed the 21-year-old had sustained minor damage to the distal left hamstring muscle.

“His return to play date will be based on the volume of work he is able to complete over the next couple of weeks,” Saunders said.

“He’s already running and he’ll continue into good training loads this week and over the next couple of weeks.

“We anticipate him being ready to return to play for the Hawthorn match in Round 15, or the game after that.”

Young defender Will Hamill will miss at least another week after suffering a second concussion for the season in the Round 10 loss to Melbourne.

“Will is progressing well, he’s been cleared for full training by the doctors without contact for this week,” Saunders said.

“He’ll then progress into contact sessions next week and be ready for the Hawthorn game.”

Midfielder Brad Crouch (hamstring) is in line to return after the bye following last week’s mishap at home.

“Brad is going really well, running at high speeds, completing a lot of functional football training at the moment,” Saunders said.

“We’re looking to test him in the lead-up to the Hawthorn game to see if he’s ready to play there.”

Tom Lynch is recovering well from a minor hamstring strain and is slated to return for Hawthorn in Round 15 as well.

Ned McHenry (managed) and Ben Crocker (illness) are both expected to be available for selection this week.
