Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks has confirmed Bryce Gibbs, Tom Lynch and Jordon Butts will return to the side for Sunday’s Round 17 clash with Carlton.

Gibbs will be a straight swap for David Mackay, who has been suspended for one week after being found guilty of forceful front-on contact against Greater Western Sydney’s Matt de Boer.

Butts will play his second AFL game, replacing key defender Daniel Talia.

“We’ll bring Butts in for Talia,” Nicks told media on Friday.

“Butts is coming off his debut (but) didn’t get to play again after. We’re glad to get him back in.”

Forward Tom Lynch is also set to return following a hamstring injury sustained against Collingwood in Round 11.

“Lynch will play,” Nicks said.

“Tom’s form coming into that injury… he was probably one of our key forwards and key on field leaders.

“No one works harder than Lynchy off field, and he continued to lead while off field so we really look forward to him coming back and doing an important role.”

Adelaide’s full Round 17 side will be announced on Saturday at 5.50pm ACST.
