Adelaide’s 2020 Club Champion will be crowned this Friday night at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

A new voting system has been introduced this year to determine who will be awarded the prestigious Malcolm Blight Medal and coveted Gold Jacket.

Following each round, Adelaide’s senior coach and three line coaches will collectively grade each player’s performance on a 0-10 scale.

Each player is assessed on how they performed in their team role, offence, defence and transition, as well as their impact on the result.

Club Champion Voting Protocol:

1-2 votes: Played team role, little impact on the result.
3-4 votes: Played team role, impacted result.
5-6 votes: Solid in team role, positive impact on result.
7-8 votes: Strong in team role, significant impact on result.
9-10 votes: Elite in team role, dominant impact on result.

Fans can tune in to the final hour of Adelaide’s Club Champion presentation live on afc.com.au from approximately 10pm ACST on Friday.

AFLW stars to be recognised at Club Champion dinner

Friday's event will recognise not only the achievements of the 2020 AFL season, but also the 2020 AFL Women's season.

In June, midfielder Anne Hatchard was crowned AFLW Crows Club Champion via a virtual presentation hosted via video call.

With restrictions now eased, Hatchard will be given the chance to accept the award in front of her teammates.

“It will be nice to celebrate what the season was,” Hatchard said.

“Having us at the event with men is awesome for the Club.

"I think we’re all pretty pumped to be there.”
