ADELAIDE midfielder Rory Sloane says the Crows have a style of play that could take them all the way to the premiership.

"I reckon the style of footy we play will hold up really well in finals," Sloane said on SEN's Morning Glory program.

"A lot of stuff goes out the window in finals — it's that hard, one-on-one style of contested footy. And I think our game style will hold up really well."

The Crows have improved from the 11th-ranked team for contested possessions in 2011 to the top-ranked team this season.

Sloane said the improvement was the result of an emphasis on contested work, rather than fitness work, during the pre-season.

He said the emphasis on contested work was evident even in Crows players who find themselves back in the SANFL.

Sloane said a rise in confidence, instilled by coach Brenton Sanderson, was the main reason behind full-forward Taylor Walker's recent brilliant form.

"Brenton's instilled in him the confidence to play his natural game," he said.

Walker took 16 marks and kicked four goals in Adelaide's 69-point victory over Melbourne at the weekend.

The Crows play Gold Coast at AAMI Stadium in their final-round match on Saturday.

Sloane will be available after missing his first game for the season against Melbourne because of an elbow injury.

Ricky Henderson, Brodie Martin and Andy Otten are also available after recovering from injury.

The Crows are third on the ladder, behind Hawthorn and Sydney Swans on percentage, and a game clear of West Coast and Collingwood.

They could finish anywhere from first to fourth after the weekend's matches.
