Draftees Jake Lever, Harrison Wigg, Mitch McGovern and Harry Dear have received their jumper numbers.

Lever, who was selected with Adelaide’s first pick in the 2015 AFL National Draft, will wear No.6.

A total of eight players have donned the No.6 in an official game for the Crows; Clayton Lamb, the Club’s all-time leading goalkicker Tony Modra, James Byrne, Ben Nelson, Fergus Watts, Jonathon Griffin, Jack Gunston and Luke Thompson.

Only Modra, who is a Life Member and 100-plus game player for the Club, has his name on the locker. The No.6 was most recently worn by defender Luke Thompson.

The Club’s second draft pick, North Adelaide defender Harrison Wigg, has taken over No.35. Wigg was selected by the Crows with No.35 on the Gold Coast last Thursday night. Only three players have worn the number for Adelaide; Rod Jameson, Rhett Biglands and Shaun McKernan.

A premiership player, Life Member and 150-gamer, Jameson’s name is pride of place on the locker above Biglands, who is also a member of the 100 club at Adelaide.

Tall forward Harry Dear will wear the No.38, which was vacated by Mitch Grigg at the end of the season. Grigg has moved into No.8, which became available following Lewis Johnston’s departure.

Grigg is one of five players to have worn No.38 in a game for the Crows following David Gallagher, Jacob Schuback, John Hinge and Tony Armstrong. Dear will be hoping to become the first player to have his name permanently etched on the No.38 locker.

West Australian forward Mitch McGovern has opted for a higher number, taking over the No.41. McGovern’s brother, Jeremy, wears No.42 for West Coast. The locker No.41 was most recently owned at Adelaide by defender Kyle Hartigan, who has shifted to the No.15. Respected 200-gamer Michael Doughty started his career in the No.41, as did fellow former rookie Brodie Martin, who now wears No.36. Hartigan, James Gallagher and Robbie Thompson are the other past owners of the number.

There are still numbers available for the up-to three players who will join the Club in the AFL Rookie Draft on Wednesday morning. Those numbers are No.42, No.43 and No.46.

As previously announced, recruits Kyle Cheney and Luke Lowden have assumed familiar numbers at the Club, while upgraded rookie Charlie Cameron is also following in famous footsteps.
