Trio set for baseball 'Showdown'

AFL 2015 Rd 23 - Geelong v Adelaide

Brodie Smith will be hoping his long kicking abilities translate onto the baseball pitch

Three Crows will represent Adelaide in a baseball ‘Summertime Showdown’ against Port Adelaide on Saturday night.

Brodie Smith, Mitch Grigg and Cam Ellis-Yolmen will swap the Sherrin for a bat and ball prior to the Adelaide Bite’s next home game at Norwood Oval this weekend.

The trio are set to line up in a head-to-head 'home run derby' against the Power on Saturday evening leading into the Bite's clash with the Melbourne Aces.

Players from each club will front up against some of the Bite’s best pitchers to swing for the fences and determine who takes early bragging rights leading into Season 2016.

The pre-game ‘Summertime Showdown’ kicks off at 6pm at Norwood Oval. The main event between the Adelaide Bite and Melbourne Aces begins at 7pm.

The Bite can consolidate third spot on the Australian Baseball League ladder with a win over the bottom-placed Aces this week.

Crows members can purchase tickets to the match for just $5 on presentation of a 2015 or 2016 membership card.
