Hawthorn have made four changes ahead of Thursday night’s clash with the Adelaide Crows at Adelaide Oval, welcoming back almost 800 games of AFL experience.

Defender Grant Birchall will play just his third game of the 2017 season, returning from a knee complaint.

Meantime, Luke Bruest, Ryan Schoenmakers and premiership captain Luke Hodge have also named by the Hawks.

Josh Gibson will miss the Round 14 game with a groin injury, while Brendan Whitecross, Kade Stewart and James Cousins have all been omitted.

Former Crow Ricky Henderson will play game number 100 after joining the Hawks as a delisted free agent.
