Crows defender Talia Radan has been traded to Melbourne in a complex deal also involving Collingwood, Greater Western Sydney and Carlton.

Adelaide has received draft picks in exchange for Radan. The Crows currently have picks 8, 30, 37, 41 and 47.

The tough defender, known for her work ethic and leadership, joined the Crows with pick No. 58 in the inaugural AFL Women’s Draft.

The 30-year-old was a key pillar in Adelaide’s defence in the first season of the AFLW, helping the Club to a historic premiership, but only played two games in 2018.

Crows General Manager of Football Administration Phil Harper thanked Radan for her contribution to the Club.

“As a member of our history-making AFLW premiership team, Talia has played an important role in our AFLW program,” Harper said.

“She was looking for more on-field opportunities so we fully supported her decision to pursue an opening to play with Melbourne.

“We thank her for her significant input both on and off the field and wish her all the best as she continues her career in Melbourne.”

The AFLW sign and trade period runs until today (Monday, June 4), with clubs able to sign up to 23 players by this deadline.

The Crows have secured a total of 12 players for 2019, including Renee Forth who was signed on Friday as part of a trade with Greater Western Sydney. More signings will be announced today.

Clubs can sign a total of 30 players for the 2019 season, with lists to be finalised following the AFLW Draft in October.

AFLW clubs can also sign two rookies next season, with both to be from other sports.
