Adelaide coach Don Pyke has sent a strong message to his playing group, making four changes at the selection table for Saturday night’s clash with Hawthorn at the MCG.

Luke Brown (ankle) is the only forced change for the Crows, with midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen and young forwards Darcy Fogarty and Lachlan Murphy omitted from the team that lost to Fremantle by three-points in Round 12.

The loss to the Dockers was Adelaide’s third in a row, leaving the Crows precariously placed in 10th spot on the AFL ladder with a 6-6 record.

Mature-aged rookie Patrick Wilson will make his AFL debut against the Hawks after a string of solid performances in the SANFL. The Sturt premiership player had 33 disposals, 19 contested possessions, eight clearances and a goal in his most recent State League outing against Woodville-West Torrens.

Defender Kyle Cheney has also been recalled, set to play his first senior game since the 2016 Semi-Final loss to Sydney. The reliable 28-year-old had an injury-ravaged campaign last year but has played himself into form in the reserves over the past four weeks.

The Crows have also recalled promising forward Jordan Gallucci and swingman Andy Otten.

Injured pair Tom Lynch (side strain) and Rory Laird were not considered for selection, unable to prove their fitness at Thursday’s main training session.

Adelaide’s Round 13 team is…

IN – J. Gallucci, A. Otten, K. Cheney, P. Wilson (debut)
OUT – L. Brown (ankle), C. Ellis-Yolmen (omitted), D. Fogarty (omitted), L. Murphy (omitted)
