Adelaide star Eddie Betts has been nominated for AFL Goal of the Year following his third quarter snap against Carlton on Saturday night, with his three goals helping the Crows to a 104-point victory.

The nomination comes after the livewire small forward won the Round 22 Mark of the Year following his leaping grab over two ruckmen.

Midfielder Matt Crouch was the set-up man with his kick from outside 50 and while the Blues nearly came away with a mark in the pack, the ball fell to Jack Silvagni.

As he tried to dash away from deep in Adelaide’s forward 50, Betts pounced with a disarming tackle that stripped him of possession.

He then snapped up the ground ball and popped through a goal on his left foot despite being surrounded by a handful of Carlton players.

The All-Australian is nominated alongside Carlton’s Sam Kerridge and Western Bulldogs’ Brad Lynch.

Fans can now view and vote for their favourite goal at: http://goaloftheyear.afl/vote/round/23

Voting opens 12 noon AEST each round the day after the last game and will close the night before commencement of the next round (exact days of the week may change depending on fixture).

All members of the public that vote and pick a weekly winner in the 2018 Coates Hire Goal of the Year will go into the draw to win $10,000.

At the end of each 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Season Round, the AFL Media editorial team will nominate three goals for public voting for the weekly Coates Hire Goal of the Year.

In a change that came into effect for the 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, footy fans will become the eleventh member of the AFL All Australian selection panel who will determine the overall winner for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year Award. Fans will be able to vote for their favourite goal of the year via AFL.com.au.

At the conclusion of the 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, the AFL All Australian selection panel will select the best three goals from a selection of 28 (the 23 weekly winners as voted by the footy fans, along with five other contenders). These goals will be selected based on a 5/4/3/2/1 vote given by each member of the selection committee.

The best three goals will then go to another vote to decide the winner of the 2018 Coates Hire Goal of the Year with the fans pick considered as a single vote in addition to the ten-person AFL All Australian selection panel voting.

The 2018 Coates Hire Goal of the Year award winner will be announced at the 2018 Brownlow Medal Count. The player that wins the 2018 Coates Hire Goal of the Year will receive $10,000.
