Adelaide’s Club Champion dinner will be hosted on Saturday night and ahead of the event, here’s a look at every Crow who has taken home an award.

The best and fairest winner earns the Malcolm Blight Medal and the coveted Gold Jacket but the Club has a rich history of winners among its other awards.

Club Champion

The Club Champion Award and the winner of the Malcolm Blight Medal is given to the season’s best and fairest player.

Crows coaching staff grade every player’s performance on a scale of 0-4 following each match.

A maximum of 20 votes can be awarded to any given player in a single match.

The winner takes home the coveted Gold Jacket.

Mark Mickan claimed the inaugural Malcolm Blight Medal, while Mark Ricciuto, Andrew McLeod and Simon Goodwin are all three-time winners.

Reilly O'Brien was crowned the Club Champion in 2020.

Leading Goalkicker

This award goes to the player who has booted the most goals for the Club during the AFL minor rounds.

Club greats including dual premiership star and Brownlow Medalist Mark Ricciuto, as well as  Coleman Medalist Tony Modra are just a few names to have taken home the Leading Goalkicker award.

Modra was Adelaide’s leading goalkicker for five straight seasons between 1993-1997.

Scott Welsh and Taylor Walker are four-time winners, while Darren Jarman and Eddie Betts have earned three Leading Goalkicker titles with the Club.

Phil Walsh Best Team Man

This award has been presented every year since the Club’s inaugural season and it recognises the most selfless player who does everything for the team.

The winner of the Phil Walsh Best Team Man is regarded as the one who always puts the team first and has outstanding character on and off the field.

Premiership captain Mark Bickley is a three-time winner, while fellow former skipper Mark Ricciuto, defender Michael Doughty and Richard Douglas have also won the award on multiple occasions.

It was renamed in 2015 to honour late Crows coach Phil Walsh and his ‘team-first’ mantra.

Players' Trademark Award (Previously Chelsea Phillis Coaches' Award)

The award, voted on by the playing group and coaches, is presented to the player who embodied the players’ trademark throughout the season.

It was previously known as the Coaches Award but the honour is now known as the Players' Trademark Award to recognise the player who has best upheld the core values of the team on and off the field.

Andrew Jarman claimed the inaugural Coaches’ Award in 1995, while other Club greats including Mark Ricciuto, Simon Goodwin and Ben Hart have also won the gong.

Skipper Rory Sloane has taken home the award four times, while Mark Bickley and Robert Shirley are three-time winners.

Mark Bickley Emerging Talent award

It is an amalgamation of two awards from the Club's history and recognises the achievements of a first or second-year player under 21 both on and off the field. 

Andrew McLeod won the first Emerging Talent award in 1995. 

The Mark Bickley Award was introduced as a standalone honour in 2005 before the two awards were combined in 2014.

19th Man Award/ Members’ Most Valuable Player

Adelaide’s members have had their say on their best and fairest Crow since 1998.

Tyson Edwards and Rory Sloane have claimed the award three times, while Mark Ricciuto and Andrew McLeod have all won the honour twice.

The award was originally named the Members’ MVP before being renamed in 2009 to recognise the Club’s most passionate supporters - the 19th man.

Then, in 2018, the award was renamed the Members’ Most Valuable Player award.

Dr Brian Sando OAM Trophy

The award was introduced in 2012 in memory of inaugural Crows Club doctor and Life Member Dr Brian Sando OAM.

It recognises outstanding and professional attention to detail in the preparation for being an AFL footballer.

State League Club Champion

The State League Club Champion award was introduced when the Club entered the SANFL in 2014.

The winner goes to the Crows’ best and fairest player at SANFL level. 

Inaugural captain Ian Callinan was crowned the winner in the first two seasons in 2014 and 2015, while Patrick Wilson won the Crows’ State League top gong back-to-back in 2018 and 2019.

The award was not given out in 2020 as the Crows sat out of the competition due to Covid-19.

Dean Bailey Award

The Dean Bailey Award recognises the Club's most impressive SANFL development player based on performance, dedication to training and commitment to the team.

It was named in honour of the late Dean Bailey, who passed away in March, 2014.

The award is a tribute to his passion for nurturing young footballers.

It was not awarded in 2020 due to Covid-19.
