Wingman Chris Hall spent most of last season on the sidelines injured.

The veteran crossed over to Adelaide’s SANFL side in 2021 from Woodville-West Torrens, where he had spent the past decade, but only lined up in six games for the Crows.

Now, after what he describes as the strongest pre-season he’s had in a while, Hall is ready to attack the upcoming state league campaign.

“Pre-season is going pretty well at the moment and we are all training pretty well,” Hall told AFC Media.

“From my own personal point of view, it’s probably the best pre-season I’ve had in the last three or four years.

“Last year was a year full of injuries so I think that’s why this pre-season has been really important to get my body right and be able to have a good crack at the year.

“I have been focusing on rehab, weights and one-on-one work with the strength and conditioning coaches, so I think that’s gone a long way to keeping injury-free.”

"This pre-season has been really important to get my body right.

Hall is one of 15 SANFL-listed players in Adelaide’s squad, down from 23 last season.

Several new recruits have been added to the Crows top-up list.

They include former Central District small forward/wingman Isaya McKenzie, ex-Port Adelaide and Eagles midfielder Louis Sharrad, as well as Jacob Templeton (Eagles).

Hall, 31, who owns his own business called Hall Painting and Building, says the side is looking strong ahead of the season starting.

“Izzy (Isaya McKenzie) is looking really good, Jay Boyle played last year and won the Club’s best development player award and Louis Sharrad and Jacob Templeton are also pretty experienced, so we should expect some good footy from them,” Hall said.

Hall said locking down a spot in the side was a top priority for this year but was also hoping to help Adelaide win an inaugural SANFL flag after claiming one with the Eagles in 2011.

“It would be nice to win a premiership and I know Godsy (Coach Michael Godden) wants to win another one,” Hall said.

“But I’d like to have a pretty consistent year, play well and obviously a premiership would be pretty cool.”

The 2022 SANFL fixture is expected to be released later this month.
