Adelaide has made four changes for its Round Two clash against Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday.

Lachlan Gollant, Luke Pedlar and Brayden Cook have been named in the team, along with Lachlan Sholl, who was used as the medical substitute against Fremantle in Round One.

Crows coach Matthew Nicks said Cook, Pedlar and Gollant deserved an opportunity at AFL level.

“We want to recognise guys who consistently live our values, and by that I mean the way we train and prepare, and as a coaching group we feel as though Brayden, Luke and Lachie have been standouts,” Nicks said.

“We’re confident they can get it done for us after strong performances at SANFL level last weekend too.”

“We want to recognise guys who consistently live our values.

Andrew McPherson (hamstring), Riley Thilthorpe, Wayne Milera and Jake Soligo come out of Adelaide’s 22.

“Our guys have a clear understanding of what we expect and off the back of a really strong block of training, match simulation and trial games, we have a healthy list and genuine competition for spots,” Nicks said.

“We all know Riley is super talented but he is also in the development phase of his career right now.

“We want to make sure when we identify areas needing work that we provide the best opportunity to focus on those things and sometimes that will be at SANFL level.

“With Wayne, there is a bigger picture view and he has missed a hell of a lot of footy over the past two years or so.

“We wanted to reward him last week for his efforts and it was invaluable having him exposed to the AFL level.

“It provides him with clarity on where he is at in regards to his readiness and we suspect some time at SANFL level will help him get back to the elite level quickly.”

Ben Davis, Thilthorpe, Soligo and Jackson Hately have been named as emergencies with one to be confirmed as the medical substitute one hour before the game.

Adelaide’s match with Collingwood is being hosted at the MCG on Saturday, April 26, at 1.15pm ACDT (1.45pm AEDT).

The game will be televised live on Channel 7 in Adelaide and nationwide on Fox Footy.
