Adelaide recruit Izak Rankine is the exciting player behind the Crows’ trade headlines and to help fans get to know him better, the 22-year-old has responded to the following Instagram questions.

Why did you decide to join the Crows? (@itzz_izaaaa)

I grew up going for the Crows and just the opportunity to be around my family and friends again and to play in front of big crowds.

Who was your favourite player to watch when you were younger? (@zakdimasi)

During high school days, Eddie Betts and Cyril Rioli were the players I really looked up to, so they were my favourites.

Favourite Crows moment you remember fondly growing up? - (@Mrflyingsloth)

Probably the Jared Petrenko goal against North Melbourne to win the game with five seconds left, that was pretty cool.

What is the best song before a game? (@jordan_molier)

The Crows song, now.

What are you most excited about playing for the Crows next year? (@matthewcliff18)

Just the opportunity to play in front of a big crowd and my family and the young group we have here at the Crows - that excites me the most.

How do you handle the pressures and expectations? (@shane.bradfield)

I think I just go back to the basics and remember that it’s just a game at the end of the day and just to have fun and work hard, as well.

Was it a hard decision moving home? (@the_coin_guru)

It was a pretty hard decision. I loved my time up on the Coast but the opportunity to come home and be in front of family and friends again was what really pulled me back.

Can you tell us a little bit about your tattoos? (@diaryofamarsland)

I’ve got a couple of tattoos now and they all have a meaning behind them and I’m excited to get a few more to cover my chest up.

Who are you looking forward to working with the most at AFC? (@williamphung)

All the young boys - (Jake) Soligo, (Josh) Rachele. I know we’ve got a good bunch here, so I’m just excited to get to work with them.

How long is the mullet staying for? (@cait.stevo27)

I’m going to grow it out a fair bit. I’ll probably just trim it here and there but I’d like to keep the mullet this length.

Are you looking forward to your first Showdown? (@fayechalmers87)

Yeah, it’s always been a dream of mine to play in a Showdown.

I can’t wait to play and run out in front of a big crowd of 50,000 people, that’s pretty exciting.

What do you want to bring for the future of this Club? (@brayden.spez)

I guess I want to get the Club back to finals and hopefully win a Grand Final.

But I’m keen to come back home and play in front of my family and friends and play with a bunch of boys that we have here.

What number would you like to be next year? (@jayden.a_footy)

That’s a secret.

Favourite Adelaide tourist destination? (@dylanpattnson)

I’m not too sure, I think probably the Yorke Peninsula or anywhere down there - Noarlunga and Aldinga and places like that. I like going on little drives down that way.

A player that you try to style your game based off of? (@briannaarichardsss)

I think there’s a bunch of people - my Dad, Cyril Rioli, Dustin Martin as well in the midfield.

I like to just take bits and pieces out of everyone’s game and try and put them into mine.

Fav coffee in Adl? (@lotte_pat.21)

At the moment it would be from Karma and Crow.
