Adelaide will officially nominate Norwood defender Max Michalanney as a father-son prospect ahead of next month’s National Draft.

Michalanney’s father Jim played 211 games and in four premierships with the Redlegs between 1974 and 1986.

The 18-year-old is eligible to be drafted by Adelaide with Norwood one of four SANFL clubs aligned to the Crows under the father-son rule.

Michalanney, who stands 190cm and 78kg, is part of the Crows Next Generation Academy and played three League games for Norwood this year including the semi and preliminary finals.

Meanwhile the Crows have completed a pick swap with two separate deals ahead of the November 28-29 draft.

Adelaide has acquired Pick 56 from Brisbane in exchange for a future fourth round selection which is currently linked to Fremantle.

It has also secured Pick 59 and a future second round selection from North Melbourne for Pick 23.

The Club’s current draft hand for next month is Picks 46, 56 and 59, and next year includes a first, two second and a third round selection.

Adelaide General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said the pick exchange provides the Club with greater flexibility in the next two national drafts.

“We are continually exploring ways to improve our draft hand and overall playing squad, and central to our decision making are the numerous scenarios that can play out in and around the draft,” Reid said.

“This latest swap of picks aligns with our list management strategy and as always, we will be true to our talent order and see how the draft selections fall on the night.”
