Adelaide Aboriginal Programs Manager Jeremy Johncock has been appointed Co-Chair of Reconciliation SA.

Johncock will share the role with Helen Connolly, who is also South Australia’s Commissioner for Children and Young People.

A proud Wirangu and Mirning man from the far west coast of SA, Johncock takes the reins from outgoing co-chair Professor Peter Buckskin.

Johncock said he was pleased to take on the role and was keen to help continue to pave the way for reconciliation.

“While it’s a great development opportunity for me, I am passionate about the reconciliation movement and believe I can add value to the great work Reconciliation SA already does in our communities,” Johncock said.

“In this position, I am (along with my fellow board members) responsible for establishing the strategic path for Reconciliation SA, ensuring sound governance, and verifying the successful execution of Reconciliation SA’s strategy.

“I am really excited to be joining the Reconciliation SA Board and team, to continue the work of those who came before me.”

Reconciliation SA is a not-for-profit community and member-based organisation which works towards a society free from prejudice, discrimination and racism.
