Midfielder Matt Crouch is expected to be sidelined for the next fortnight as he recovers from a fractured fibula.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury at training on Friday and scans later revealed a minor fracture to his right leg.

“It’s enough to keep him off his legs this week and we expect him to return to running next week and be available the week after,” Crows High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“Obviously it could have been better and there be no fracture there, but it could have been worse because it was a nasty knee that he copped.

“Matt’s moving around pretty much pain free at the moment so just as a precaution we will keep him off legs this week and get him going again next week.”

Defender Josh Worrell is also continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury he suffered in the pre-season game against Fremantle.

“Josh is moving really well and we expect him to be integrated into training in the next two weeks so we are looking at a three to four week return to play period from now,” Burgess said.

“Obviously it’s frustrating for him, he was training so well in pre-season and looking as good as he ever had, but unfortunately these things happen and he’ll be back bigger and better I’m sure.”

Draftee Billy Dowling is out of a moon boot as he deals with a joint-related foot injury from the practice game against West Coast.

“We anticipate Billy will be running next week and back to training the week after so probably about that three to four week mark before he’s ready to return to play,” Burgess said.

“He’s out of his moonboot and in the gym, we will keep him off legs for another few days and then get him going next week.”

Injury list as of Tuesday, March 14:

Billy Dowling (foot) 4 weeks
Josh Worrell (hamstring) 3-4 weeks
Matt Crouch (leg) 2-3 weeks
