Adelaide has strengthened its squad for Season Eight by securing Sarah Goodwin from Port Adelaide on the final day of the Sign and Trade Period.

The 18-year-old arrives at West Lakes from Port Adelaide in exchange for defender Jasmine Simmons.

They also receive Adelaide’s first and second round picks in the supplementary draft, currently picks 16 and 34.

Goodwin was drafted in 2022 at Pick No.7 by Port Adelaide and went on to play five games in Season Seven.

The 168cm attacking defender was part of the 2021 SANFLW premiership winning team alongside new Crows teammates Ebony Marinoff, Caitlin Gould and Brooke Tonon.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Goodwin has already experienced time at the Club as part of its Bridgestone Next Generation Academy.

“We see Sarah as an extremely talented young player and can’t wait to see what she adds to our team.”

Simmons joined Adelaide in 2021 as a rookie and played eight games for the Crows across Seasons Six and Seven in 2022.

Harper thanked Simmons for her contribution during her time at the Club.

“We would like to thank Jas for her contribution over the past two seasons and wish her all the best in seeking a new opportunity with Port.”
