Young Adelaide defender Luke Nankervis will make his AFL debut against Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday.

The Crows selected Nankervis at the 2021 Pre-Season Draft as an agile half-forward, but his athleticism, agility and fast hands led him to switching to defence in 2023.

Across 13 SANFL games for the Crows this season, the 19-year-old has averaged 18.5 disposals, 6.4 marks and 2.9 rebounds inside defensive 50.

In last weekend’s SANFL win against ladder-leader Glenelg, Nankervis finished with 21 disposals and five marks.

Nankervis will be the Crows’ fourth Club debutant of 2023.

In Round One, father-son selection Max Michalanney made his AFL debut, while Izak Rankine and Tyler Brown made their Club debuts in that same match.

Adelaide takes on Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday at 2.50pm (ACST).
