Adelaide Vice Captain Eloise Jones has had her one-match ban for rough conduct upheld by the AFLW Tribunal and will miss this Sunday’s game against Melbourne.

Jones was cited for a bump on North Melbourne midfielder Ruby Tripodi during the second quarter of the clash at North Hobart Oval last Sunday.

The incident was graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Jones and her legal counsel, Thomas Duggan KC, argued that the bump was not careless, but a reasonable way for her to have contested the ball, and that the impact should be graded low not medium.

Crows Executive General Manager AFLW, Bree Brock, said the Club was disappointed with the outcome but said the Club would accept the Tribunal’s finding.

“We felt that we had a strong, well-presented case that showed Eloise had attempted to contest the ball,” Brock said.

“Ultimately, we respect the decision of the Tribunal and we will not be pursing this further.”

Adelaide plays Melbourne at Unley Oval in Round 12 on Sunday, November 1 at 2.35pm.
