The 33rd edition of the Adelaide Club Champion (now known as the Malcolm Blight Medal) will be run and won this Saturday night, with a host of exciting storylines to make for an entertaining count.

As the Club prepares to come together and celebrate the season that was, AFC Media has put together a guide of everything you need to know ahead of the big night.

Brief history

First won by Mark Mickan in 1991, the Adelaide Club Champion is an award steeped with 32 years of rich history.

The Malcolm Blight Medal has been presented to the Crows’ Best and Fairest since 2002, after the Club decided to name its most coveted prize after the two-time premiership coach.

Mark Ricciuto, Andrew McLeod, Simon Goodwin and Rory Laird share the mantle for the most wins, with the quartet claiming the award three times.

Former skipper Rory Sloane, accomplished midfielder Scott Thompson and 300-gamer Ben Hart are the other multiple winners, taking home the honour on two occasions.

Four players on Adelaide’s current list have won Malcolm Blight Medals - Laird (2018, 2021 and 2022), Sloane (2013 and 2016), Reilly O’Brien (2020) and Matt Crouch (2017).
