Adelaide has thanked two-time AFLW premiership player Hannah Button for her contribution to the Club over the past five seasons.

The 27-year-old was informed she would not be offered a contract for next year, after missing the 2023 season through injury.

Button began playing football only a year before she was drafted and, after a standout debut season for West Adelaide in the SANFLW, was selected with Pick No. 53 at the 2018 AFLW National Draft.

She went on to play 39 games for the Crows, including the 2019 and Season Six (2022) Premierships.

Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said that although injury hampered her 2023 campaign, she remained a very popular and valued member of the playing group.

“These are always difficult decisions, and we appreciate everything Hannah has done for our group,” Harper said.

“She has worked extremely hard in her rehabilitation this year and has always had a positive, team-first attitude.

“We will continue to support Hannah in her recovery and she will stay involved with the Club.”
