Kuwarna forward/midfielder Luke Pedlar will make his way back from a shoulder injury with the Club’s SANFL side this weekend.

Pedlar, who has not played since he dislocated his shoulder in the Club’s AFL Round Seven match against North Melbourne, has been cleared to feature in a competitive game.

The 22-year-old is one of seven inclusions to the Kuwarna SANFL squad for its Indigenous Round match against Sturt at Unley Oval this Saturday.

Development listed player Steve Burton is in line to make his League debut with Kuwarna and he is named in the squad alongside Hugh Haysman, Lachlan Thomas, Jacob Templeton and Dylan Whimpress.

AFL-listed defender Dan Curtin rounds out the inclusions.

SANFL Skipper Jack Madgen will miss the game due to entering the League’s concussion protocol, while AFL-listed players Sam Berry, James Borlase, Will Hamill, Lachlan Murphy, Harry Schoenberg and Kieran Strachan have been included in the AFL squad.

Kuwarna will announce its final AFL team on Friday, with the game on Sunday, and the players not included in that will play in the SANFL game.

The SANFL will celebrate First Nations Round during this week and next week’s games, with teams donning their Indigenous guernseys to honour the special round.

The round aims to recognise and celebrate the contribution of all SANFL First Nations players past and present who have made, and continue to make, such a significant contribution to our game.

Kuwarna players will don the Indigenous guernsey crafted by AFL forward Izak Rankine, who worked alongside his cousin, artist Harley Hall, in a celebration of their shared Ngarrindjeri heritage.

The Club takes on the Double Blues at Unley Oval on Saturday at 2.30pm.
