Crows defender Nick Murray is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks after undergoing an arthroscope on his reconstructed left knee tomorrow.
The 24-year-old jarred his knee at training in March and missed three games, and although he was able to return to play the past two games, he has experienced some discomfort and had further scans on Monday night.
“Nick has experienced some discomfort and hasn’t been able to perform at the level he would hope, so we sent him for a scan and he will have an arthroscope tomorrow to tidy up a few loose ends around his knee,” High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.
“The scans were largely inconclusive, but we will know more about the exact nature of the injury when we do operate, it’s unfortunate but we’re anticipating he will be out for a range of between 4-6 weeks.”
Forward Darcy Fogarty is pushing to return from a one-week absence with a sternoclavicular strain and providing he gets through main training on Wednesday is expected to be available for selection.
Fellow forward Riley Thilthorpe is also set to play against Carlton on Saturday after dislocating his finger in Friday’s loss to the Dockers.
“He showed a fair bit of courage to come back and still have an impact on the game, we’ll look after him this week in terms of contact work but he will be fine to play on Saturday,” Burgess said.
Defender James Borlase missed the SANFL game on the weekend with a sprained ankle but has recovered.
“James will train fully tomorrow and we’re anticipating he will get through that and be available for the weekend,” Burgess said.
