Adelaide defender Nick Murray will be available for selection this weekend, after overcoming a knee injury.

The 24-year-old has been sidelined since Round Eight, and after a successful return to the main training group last week, would be poised to return to the field.

“Good news on Nick Murray, he is available for selection this weekend, so he’ll play either in the AFL or the SANFL,” Adelaide High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“He’s come through everything we’ve asked him to do and he’s ready to go.”

Midfielder Harry Schoenberg was withdrawn from the Crows’ SANFL match against South Adelaide on Saturday, due to a quad injury.

Scans revealed some minor damage, which has ruled him out until after the Club’s upcoming bye.

“Harry Schoenberg tweaked his quad in training last week and didn’t get up for the SANFL game on the weekend,” Burgess said.

“We scanned it and there is a little bit there, so he’ll miss this week and come back after the bye.”

Matt Crouch has continued his recovery process from a hip injury, building up his running loads before being integrated back into training in the coming weeks.

“Matt Crouch is doing a lot of on-field running, he’ll progress through the stages of linear running and change of direction and then get into training,” he said.

“Timeline on that is around the four-to-six week mark.”

Key forward Toby Murray is nearing a return to running, and will likely tick off the milestone on the AlterG machine this week.

“Toby Murray will run at some stage this week on the AlterG and then progress through to on-ground running and training from there,” he said.

Young defender Oscar Ryan has progressed well in his recovery from a broken jaw, and has returned to on-field running.

“Oscar Ryan is running on-field, he’s getting no pain in his jaw, and he’ll most likely be available for that first game after the bye,” Burgess said.

First year Crow Tyler Welsh will have a pin removed from his toe in the next week, and eye a return to on-field running shortly thereafter.

“Tyler Welsh will have a pin, which has been in his toe for the last week or so, removed next week,” he said.

“He’ll then be able to start his on-ground running some time after that.”
