The Adelaide Football Club is saddened by the passing of Life Member Bob Shoolbread.

The long-serving statistician died on Saturday – the day before his 83rd birthday – after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Shoolbread joined Adelaide for its first AFL season in 1991, after being recruited from SANFL club West Adelaide.

He continued to volunteer at the Crows for the next 24 years, not only as a match-day statistician but as a room steward who assisted the football department at training sessions.

Former Crows CEO Steven Trigg said the much-loved Shoolbread had a major impact on the Club.

“Bobby’s upbeat, positive presence was always appreciated in and around the group,” Trigg said.

“I loved his cheeky smile and with a little ‘touch of the glove’ his enthusiasm always rubbed off on others.”

Shoolbread was awarded Crows Life Membership in 2021 and is also a Life Member at West Adelaide.

The Adelaide Football Club extends its sincerest condolences to his wife Judy and family.
