Adelaide will be without Hannah Munyard for the rest of the AFLW season, after the 24-year-old utility broke her ankle during a tackle in Sunday’s Round One game against St Kilda at RSEA Park.

Crows Head of AFLW Phil Harper said Munyard was taken to hospital and underwent surgery in Melbourne on Monday night.

“The surgeon suggested that the sooner the operation was had on the ankle, the better, so she had successful surgery on Monday where she had a plate and some pins inserted.

“The surgeon didn’t want her to fly back to Adelaide, so fortunately her Dad was over in Melbourne for the game and is driving Hannah back to Adelaide.

“Hannah’s in good spirits and will start her rehab soon, but unfortunately she will be out for the season.”

Harper said defenders Zoe Prowse and Kayleigh Cronin both copped corkies in their legs during Sunday’s game.

They will be on restricted training early in the week, but he expected both players to be fit and available for selection for Round Two.

Injury list as of Tuesday, August 19:

Kayleigh Cronin – leg – test

Zoe Prowse – leg – test

Hannah Munyard – ankle – season

Georgia McKee – ACL – season
