Kuwarna has made two changes for its Round Four clash against Brisbane at Norwood Oval on Sunday.

Co-Captain Sarah Allan returns to the backline, after missing the past two matches with a minor quad strain.

Dynamic utility Teah Charlton also comes back into the side after overcoming hamstring awareness that has kept her out of the last two games against Geelong and Greater Western Sydney, respectively.

Kuwarna Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said it was a boost to welcome two quality players back into the side.

“Brisbane have got some quality key forwards, so having another option in defence to take on them will certainly be handy with Sarah, she’s the Co-Captain for a reason and I’m sure she’ll be able to do a job for us there,” Harper said.

“Teah has had a bit of hamstring awareness the last couple weeks, so it’s great to have her back, and she will provide some great run and energy to our group.

“They are two quality inclusions for us and we can’t wait to see what they’ll add to our group on Sunday.”

Kayleigh Cronin and Kiera Mueller make way for the duo, with Mueller named as an emergency alongside Rachelle Martin and Lily Tarlinton

Harper said Cronin and Mueller were unlucky to miss out but the team’s healthy list made selection a squeeze.

“They both played their role well for us when they’ve been in the side, and haven’t done a lot wrong,” Harper said.

“We’ve only got the two girls on the injury list at the moment in Georgia McKee and Hannah Munyard, so we’ve got a fit team at the moment, and when you get two quality players in Sarah and Teah back in the side, two have to come out which is what’s happened here.

“I’m sure Kayleigh and Kiera will be back in the side again soon.”

Kuwarna will be looking to buck recent history and secure a long-awaited win against Brisbane, as the teams prepare to face off at Norwood Oval.

Harper admitted the Lions had the wood over Kuwarna, and said the group was excited to flip the script.

“We very rarely get to play Brisbane at home, so it’s an exciting opportunity for us at Norwood this Sunday,” Harper said.

“They’ve had the wood over us, you can’t shy away from that, they’ve been better than us and as a result have a bit of a winning streak against us.

“All I can say is hopefully it means we’re closer to our next win against them.”

Kuwarna takes on Brisbane at Norwood Oval on Sunday afternoon, with the first bounce at 12.35pm ACST.
