Those looking to kickstart a career in sport can now study at the Crows, with the Adelaide Football Club partnering with Adelaide University to offer a one-year Diploma in Sport Management based out of its headquarters at West Lakes.

Program participants can even earn a job at the Crows, with two paid full-time roles on offer for graduates each year.

The newly created Adelaide Crows Institute of Sports Business is delivering the Diploma, giving participants the opportunity to learn directly from industry experts and gain practical insights into the workings of an elite sporting organisation.

The course combines insights from academics from Adelaide University with hands-on experience through 120 placement hours with the Crows, including at AFL and AFLW home matches and community events.

A pilot cohort commenced the first Diploma at the Club in August 2025, with its success meaning the next intake is set to commence in February 2026.

Applications are open until December 21 for those interested in studying next year.

Imogen Good has been part of the pilot cohort and said the best thing to come from the program is the opportunities that have arisen from the fact it’s based at the Adelaide Football Club.

“It’s a close-knit cohort and I like the classroom environment that comes with that. I’ve enjoyed the opportunities we’ve had through the Club like the guest speakers and it’s great to have the chance to connect with current activities, particularly across the women’s program which I’m passionate about,” Good said.

Participant Zack Wheatland has also enjoyed the immersive program.

“Being able to work on a match day rather than being in the stands was a good experience and I definitely learnt a lot,” he said.

The Diploma includes a balance of theory and practical application, providing students with strong foundations to work in an elite sporting organisation or in the broader business and sporting community.

Students interested in further study can use the Diploma as a pathway into the second year of a Bachelor of Business majoring in Sport Management.

No ATAR is required for entry.
