Chelsea Randall has been withdrawn from the extended squad for Sunday’s game against Fremantle.

The decision, based on medical advice and the AFL’s concussion protocols, was made after Randall reported concussion-related symptoms following the team’s main training session yesterday.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said the Club would always prioritise its people’s health and wellbeing, and decision-making would continue to be guided by the Club’s experienced medical team and the League’s protocols.

“In a genuine attempt to be match-ready, Chelsea completed a full contact session on Thursday, and trained really well and felt good, hence we included her in the extended squad,” Harper said.

“The AFL’s concussion protocols state she must also be symptom-free for 24 hours following that session and unfortunately Chelsea has experienced symptoms, meaning she needs to sit out this week’s game.

“Chelsea’s health now and into the future is the most important part of this process that we are going through, and our entire focus will continue to be on providing her with the necessary support.”

Randall has not played since Adelaide’s Round 5 match against Hawthorn.

Forward Hannah Munyard has been added to the Crows' extended squad, with the final team to be confirmed at 4.30pm ACDT.
