Adelaide wishes three-time Club Champion Anne Hatchard all the best for the future after finalising a trade with Gold Coast.

Hatchard joins the Suns in a deal that involves multiple draft picks, including the Crows getting Pick 4 in this year’s Telstra AFLW Draft plus a future first round selection.

Crows Head of AFLW Phil Harper thanked Hatchard, saying the four-time All-Australian had made an outstanding contribution to the Club across 10 seasons.

“It’s disappointing to farewell any player, let alone one like Anne who has been such an incredible player and an integral part of our program since the start,” Harper said.

“We also respect her decision and desire to be traded to Gold Coast and we are thankful for her immense contribution and wish Anne, her wife Georgie and their growing family nothing but the best.

“Anne is a multiple Club best and fairest winner, three-time premiership player and Life Member, and she will always hold a special place at the Crows and collectively, we say a very big thank you.”

In the trade deal, Adelaide receives Picks 4 and 38 in this year’s Draft, as well as Gold Coast’s 2026 Future First Round pick.

In exchange, the Suns acquire Hatchard along with Picks 14, 21 and 32 in the upcoming 2025 AFLW Draft.

Harper said the Club was now in a position to bring in some genuine high-end talent over the next two years, given its strong draft hand.

“Our sustained success and ability to retain core talent, coupled with the League’s equalisation measures with expansion teams, has meant we have had limited access to early draft picks in recent years,” he said.

“We are now entering a new era and there’s an opportunity to reshape our squad, which we will do in a really deliberate, well thought-out manner, while pushing hard to deliver more on-field success.”

The 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft is on Monday, December 15, with Adelaide currently holding Picks 4, 38, 39 and 50.

The AFLW Trade Period runs until Wednesday, December 10.
