Adelaide has secured its strongest-ever AFLW draft hand at the conclusion of the AFLW Trade Period, with the Club holding three First Round picks in the upcoming 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft.
The Crows started the Trade Period with one First Round Pick – No. 14 – but now hold three First Round selections in Picks 4, 13 and 17 after completing a series of trades.
Adelaide secured Pick 4 from Gold Coast as part of a trade that saw midfielder Anne Hatchard head to the Suns along with Pick 14. The Crows also received Gold Coast’s future First Round pick (2026).
Meanwhile, Pick 13 was secured from Essendon for key position player Zoe Prowse, and Brooke Boileau was traded to Carlton in a multi-club deal, with the Crows receiving Pick 17.
Crows Head of AFLW Phil Harper said the Club would use its significantly strengthened draft hand to bring in young, top-end talent through next week’s Draft.
“We are incredibly proud of what our AFLW program has achieved in the past, and we now enter an exciting new era under newly appointed Senior Coach Ryan Davis, where we will be striving to improve further,” Harper said.
“Whilst we regrettably say goodbye to three teammates - and we didn’t want to farewell any of them - it has meant we have needed to look for ways to tap into high-end talent to strengthen our list going forward.
“With three First Round picks in 2025, we will be able to bring in talent that can help make our side better.
“This strategy is setting us up not just for the next one or two years, but for five, six, seven years into the future.”
The Crows also added experience and strength to the squad, after securing a trade with Richmond for midfielder Grace Egan in exchange for Third Round Pick 38.
Harper said the 25-year-old ball-winner – who has played 66 games for Carlton and Richmond since debuting in 2020 – would add depth to the Adelaide midfield group.
“Grace has also shown great resilience throughout 2025 after overcoming a serious illness which saw her hospitalised, to return to play nine games this season,” Harper said.
“She has finished in the Top 5 of Richmond’s Club Champion count for two of the past three seasons, and we are confident she can make an immediate impact on our team.”
Harper said the Club was pleased with the overall outcome of the Trade Period.
“To finish the week with three First Round picks and a future First Round pick in 2026 tied to Gold Coast has been pleasing,” he said.
“Pick 4 is the equal-highest draft pick the Club has ever held, matching the No. 4 we used in 2020 to draft Teah Charlton when the drafts were still state-based.
“We are very excited by the opportunity before us."
The Crows hold Picks 4, 13, 17, 39 and 60 in the 2025 AFLW Draft, which will take place on Monday, December 15.
