Adelaide’s 2025 AFLW Rising Star nominee India Rasheed has signed a contract extension that will see her stay at the Club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Already contracted until the end of 2026, Rasheed made the decision to extend her contract by a further year following a successful debut season in the Crows tri-colours.

The 19-year-old said she didn’t hesitate in signing on for an additional year.

“Ever since I walked in the doors here at the Crows I have been blown away by how welcoming everyone’s been and I love being a part of this team,” Rasheed said.

“This is a special group; there’s a great feeling between us and we’re keen to get down to hard work together and strive for team success.

“I loved my first AFLW season and learnt so much and now I’m looking forward to building on that into the future.”

Having been selected with Pick 13 at the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft, Rasheed debuted in Round One in 2025, playing 14 games including two finals, averaging 10.4 disposals, 3.1 marks and 1.6 tackles.

She was honoured with an AFLW Rising Star nomination after her impressive performance against Port Adelaide in Showdown IV in Round 11, where she had 14 touches (11 kicks, three handballs) and took a career-best six marks.

Rasheed went on to kick two of her three season goals in Adelaide’s Elimination Final win against St Kilda at Norwood Oval.

Crows Head of AFLW Phil Harper said Rasheed was as consistent a first-year player as he had seen.

“India is one of the few 18-year-olds at the Crows to play all possible games in their debut season - alongside the likes of being Ebony Marinoff and Teah Charlton - which is an amazing achievement,” he said.

“We saw her improve every game that she played and by the end of the season she was playing her best footy and, excitingly, we think there’s even more improvement to come.

“She’s really enjoyed her time here at the footy club and she’s made some great friends and therefore wanted to extend her contract, which we’re thrilled about.”
