As South Australia prepares to host Gather Round for a fourth straight year, Crows forward Taylor Walker has opened up on his favourite footy oval in the state outside of Adelaide Oval.

Speaking on Triple M Breakfast with Loz and Thommo on Tuesday, Walker said outside of Adelaide Oval, there was one other ground where he enjoyed watching footy.

“I’ve (watched games) at Norwood a few times, and I love going to Norwood,” Walker said.

“That brick wall is so unique and iconic.

“It’s such a beautiful spectacle and I loved playing at the Redlegs when I first came down here (from Broken Hill).

“The supporters are so close, you pack in 10,000 to 12,000 people and it’s a great spectacle for everyone involved.”

The Crows will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak when they face the Blues, with their most recent loss being a narrow two-point defeat against Fremantle on Good Friday.

Against the Dockers, Adelaide cut a 25-point half-time deficit to lead by 10 points midway through the final term, before Fremantle booted the final two goals of the game to win the game.

Walker said there were plenty of positives to come out of the Crows’ second-half fightback and starting the game strongly this week would be a big focus.

“It’s obviously been a bit of a tough month, but I sit here with a glass-half-full attitude. We’ve lost by a goal to the Bulldogs, a goal-and-a-bit to Geelong and two points to Freo, so we are there abouts,” Walker said.

“We’ve got enormous growth in our game and hopefully this weekend we can put it on show to start Gather Round for the fourth year in a row.

“I think our ability to take those moments and execute them as best we can, we are probably not doing that at the moment.

“If we can keep striving to watch those clips on Monday and get better at doing that, I’m sure it’s going to go a long way to us winning.”

Adelaide kicks off Gather Round against Carlton at Adelaide Oval on Thursday at 7.10pm.

The game, which is a fully ticketed match, will be broadcast live on Channel 7, Fox Footy and Kayo.

Fans without a ticket can watch live from the Footy Festival at Elder Park.
