Adelaide has made four changes for its Round Six game against St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Defender Jordon Butts returns to the line-up alongside forward Luke Pedlar, with the pair having successfully cleared the AFL’s concussion protocols.

Charlie Edwards will make his AFL debut, after impressing in the Crows’ opening two SANFL games this season.

Hugh Bond will also feature against St Kilda, returning to line-up after last playing in the Crows’ Round Four game against Fremantle.

Crows Executive General Manager Football Adam Kelly said Edwards deserved an opportunity after consistent hard work and dedication across the past three years.

“Charlie’s journey to this point is a great example of what strong development and persistence can look like,” Kelly said.

“He came into the Club as a first round pick in the 2023 draft after a junior career where he showed real versatility and growth across roles.”

“He’s taken the time to build his game at SANFL level, embraced positional changes, and continued to improve his consistency and understanding of what’s required at AFL level. His performances and attitude have put him firmly in the mix for selection this season, and this debut is a well earned opportunity.”

“It’s an exciting moment for Charlie, his family and everyone who has been part of his journey, and we’re looking forward to seeing him take that next step.”

Kelly said Butts, Pedlar and Bond were also welcomed additions to the team, as it looked to secure a second consecutive win.

“Luke and Jordon return to the side after completing concussion protocols, with both players having played important roles prior to their respective injuries,” Kelly said.

“They each bring attributes that are important to how we want to play - Luke with his physicality and pressure in the forward line, and Jordon with his strength, consistency, and strong form down back.

“It’s pleasing to have them available again and rewarded after progressing through everything required to return.

“Hugh is a tough, team-first competitor, we will welcome back his intensity and reliability in defence; an approach to the game which is highly valued by his teammates and coaches.”

Captain Jordan Dawson will miss the game for personal reasons.

Backman Mitch Hinge (hamstring) and midfielder Jake Soligo (ankle) come out of the side due to injuries.

Defender James Borlase has been omitted and is named on the emergency list alongside Billy Dowling and Toby Murray.

Adelaide faces St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday at 7.05pm, with the game to be broadcast live on Fox footy and Kayo.

The broadcast will start on Channel 7 Adelaide from 8.30pm.
