Five goals from Sam Jacobs and four from Myles Poholke have led the SANFL Crows to a 31-point win against North Adelaide on Saturday afternoon.

The Crows kicked six goals to one in a dominant second quarter to help them secure a 15.6 (96) to 9.11 (65) victory at Prospect Oval.

In his first competitive game back from injury, Jacobs was a strong target up forward but also competed well around the ground, finishing with 20 touches, nine marks and 28 hit-outs.

Richard Douglas played well in the midfield, notching 31 disposals, eight clearances and seven marks while Chayce Jones had 21 touches and 10 clearances.

Poholke had 20 touches and five inside 50s to go with his four goals.

Down back, Andy Otten led the defence with 25 disposals, eight marks and four spoils and Jordon Butts impressed with 14 disposals, seven marks while kicking with 100 per cent efficiency.

State League coach Heath Younie said there were areas for the team to work on but praised many positives from the match.

“It was a really interesting game, we didn’t have a lot of inside 50s, they were plus seven with that and we seemed to score every time we went in there,” Younie said.

“We’ll take the win, it was nice for Richard [Douglas] to get through another game, it was really nice to see Sauce [Jacobs] back playing again, I thought he was great in the contest, his aerial presence was great.

“Our second quarter was the way we wanted to play, we got the ball deep and were able to mark the ball and that was what we were trying to achieve.”

Younie was pleased to see even contributors all across the ground.

“We had a really nice spread across the midfield, there was a group of six or seven that were able to find the ball 20 plus times, and that’s a sign of a good team, they’re able to share the balance.

“Our defenders were also really strong, they were able to stop some fast plays that North had.”

Former Adelaide listed players Ben Jarman and Keenan Ramsey both kicked a goal for the Roosters.

No injuries were reported from the game.
